Arrived there 5 mins before 8 am and already the line was at the back of the building. Nonetheless, I was optimistic because I had the day off but also estimating the number of persons ahead of me, I was certain that I would be finished by 10 am. I never got out minutes to 11am. This was my 1st time at any DPS and I applied for my 1st time learner's driving permit. A word of warning about the utilities bills- must be 2 different sources, they don't want to see bank offers/promotions, no insurance offers, no "medical"/ health insurance letter. Bank statement and a car insurance statement was what my parent provided thankfully that prevented me from be turned away. They're very picky about the 2 different types of mail to prove your residency/home address. Also, make use of the 'check in online service' on the official DPS website where you select the license office you will be attending to ahead of time. This helps to reduce your waiting time significantly. Come prepared esp. in regards to the utility bill proof of evidence, there's a list of accepted docs on the official website, you should check out -its well worth your time, the wait, hassle and frustration the DPS can sometime make uncomfortable for us. I strongly urge anyone to arrive there for 6 am or earlier; sounds 'too early' but you'll be surprised like I was this morning when you think to yourself, that you're running on time or you will be 'a bit too early'. Again, better to be early and or 1st man/woman/teen waiting than to wish you had arrived early/earlier!

  • I was reading reviews here and I got really nervous because I thought I'm going to have a problem. Lady who helped me was really nice and polite. Just MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE and you are not going to wait 2-3 hours. Check online what documents you are going to need and bring them. I finished everything within 20 minutes and it was full of people inside You don't have to go super early, they work until 5-6. If you don't have all the papers of course they can't help you. Just make sure you make an appointment and have all documents and you'll be fine.

Zero Stars.... Anyone who ranks this place a five star either works there or knows someone who works there. Worst place ever and not exaggerating. Don't expect a genuine smile from any employee, but while you are waiting for hours you will see the employees smiling with each other. Their attitudes make the whole experience one of the worst things you can go through in life, and its almost like they get off on it. Don't ask a legitimate question because you will be more than likely talked to like you are less than human. It's sad that the supervising officials that oversee these people allow this to continue. I'm sure they see the reviews and find absolutely no error in the employees at all. Just go to the lady who is at the information desk when you first walk in and you will see.

  • Most the people leaving 1 star dont bring the proper paperwork or go just before they close. Its worth it to get there at like 730 just before they open and get on and out. They are friendly people as long as your not rude or ignorant with them first. They have to deal with people who "didn't know i needed that" all day long. For most of us this isn't the first time we are doubt this, yet we complain when we are the ones at fault. Research and bring the proper paperwork. Go when they open. Start positive and it will be just fine. God bless
